Christmas, for many people, is a time for celebration. For others, it is religious holiday. And for many, it is not such a happy time. The Institute for Renewed Education continues to organize Christmas parties for seniors in cooperation with their tenant’s councils.
The main objective is to have them spend some precious moments together, getting to know each other and building important relationships. This year, Eddy Mohabir and Chuck MeInnis were instrumental in organizing parties in the recreation rooms of their own buildings. Entertainers, both from the buildings and from outside performed for the residents in the spirit of the seasons. The tenants contributed culinary delights such as turkeys, potato salads, drinks, etc completing the festivities. Many felt the need to dance to the music and smiles were seen throughout the room.
